A big heartfelt thank you to the many people, volunteers and organizations who have helped us improve the quality of life of people living with HIV and AIDS at the Mae On Hospital in rural, northern Thailand.

Our goal is to ensure that every project is sustainable – meaning that we train local staff in all of our programs and basically work our way out of a ‘job’. We need your help to continue new health care projects which will help many impoverished adults and children.  All our programs are currently staffed by a team of dedicated volunteers.  We thank you for your kind support.

Funds raised will be used to provide the following:

  • On-going training in advanced acupuncture therapeutics and financial support for the acupuncture clinic in Thailand (The Mae On Project).
  • Training in acupuncture for healthcare providers.
  • Acupuncture clinic set-up.
  • Acupuncture treatments for impoverished adults and children, many living with HIV.
  • Educational scholarships for children affected by HIV.
  • Nutrition and garden projects (remember medicines don’t work without adequate food).
  • HIV/AIDS education, stigma reduction and gender-equality programs.  These are all essential to enhance prevention and to assist people in understanding the importance of getting tested for HIV.

Here is an idea of how your donation will help make a difference!

$10 will fund weekly acupuncture treatments for 1 HIV positive adult or child for 1 month.

$60 will fund weekly acupuncture treatments for 1 HIV positive adult or child for 6 months.

$400 will cover the cost of 1 year of education for a child affected by HIV in rural Thailand.

$1000 will help buy necessary acupuncture books for training at a community hospital or clinic.

$5000 will help initiate important garden projects in rural developing countries (remember antiretroviral therapy doesn’t work without adequate nutrition).

$7,000 will help provide a much needed stigma workshop in a developing country

$10,000 will provide initial acupuncture training for health care professionals treating patients living with HIV

$50,000 US will help fund a much needed integrated medicine clinic in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for underprivileged adults and children, many living with HIV

The majority of the projects are staffed by a team of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy towards these valuable programs.

We welcome your generosity in helping to make these important projects a reality. Your support will make a difference in the lives of many impoverished individuals. Your donation, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.
